My Story

Hi, I am David Hall

U.S. Marine Corps Veteran

I served nearly 14 years as a United States Marine before moving into the container industry. The Corps taught me that details matter, that commitments are kept, and that you do not leave someone hanging when they are counting on you.

Delivery Geography in New Jersey

New Jersey's 21 counties are divided into 564 municipalities, and the zoning rules for a container can change from one town to the next.

North and Central New Jersey run from the Hudson River waterfront and the Meadowlands west to the wooded ridges of Sussex and Warren counties, and south along the Raritan River and the Route 1 corridor to Trenton on the Delaware. Newark, Jersey City and Elizabeth are densely built, with narrow lots, parked cars and overhead wires on many blocks. Farther west and south, suburbs, farms and wooded hills have larger lots and longer driveways. A delivery depends on a straight approach long enough for the truck to unload, enough overhead clearance and a firm, level spot for the container.

What to Plan Around in New Jersey

New Jersey sites range from filled former marshland near Newark Bay and the Meadowlands to rocky glacial ground in the northern hills and sandy soil in Middlesex and Monmouth counties. Filled or wet ground can settle unevenly, so each corner needs firm, level and drained support.

  • ✓ Level, firm ground under all four corners
  • ✓ Drainage that carries water away from the container
  • ✓ Unpaved access to farm, ranch and acreage sites
  • ✓ HOA covenants, deed restrictions and local permit questions
  • ✓ Access at job sites, plants and other working sites
  • ✓ Driveway width and overhead clearance on the truck's route
