New Jersey Container Delivery Regions

Container One arranges delivery from Mahwah to Trenton, from Jersey City to Phillipsburg, where the truck has the access it needs. Container One's Delivery/Dispatch department contacts you to schedule the date and time, and timing depends on your location, when payment is received, the weather and other factors.

North and Central New Jersey run from the Hudson River waterfront and the Meadowlands west to the wooded ridges of Sussex and Warren counties, and south along the Raritan River and the Route 1 corridor to Trenton on the Delaware. Newark, Jersey City and Elizabeth are densely built, with narrow lots, parked cars and overhead wires on many blocks. Farther west and south, suburbs, farms and wooded hills have larger lots and longer driveways. A delivery depends on a straight approach long enough for the truck to unload, enough overhead clearance and a firm, level spot for the container.

The delivered price depends on your address, which is why the quote starts with your ZIP code. Give us yours, in the form below or by calling (330) 510-5817, and a Container One sales representative prepares the quote for your location.

Newark skyline above the Passaic River, with rowhouse blocks and steel rail bridges along the riverbank

Newark, Essex and Union Counties

Newark, Elizabeth and the older suburbs between Newark Bay and the Watchung ridges.

Delivering a 20ft container requires 110 feet of straight run, which may have to start in the street. Newark's container rules differ by zone, so check the parcel's zone before ordering.

Jersey City waterfront towers along the Hudson River, seen across the lawns of Liberty State Park

Jersey City and Hudson County

Row houses, waterfront towers and port-side logistics yards.

Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne and Union City have dense blocks of row houses and apartment buildings, with street trees and little off-street space. A container on a Jersey City street or in its parking lane needs a permit from the city's Division of Engineering, Traffic and Transportation. Industrial lots along Route 440 and the Turnpike Extension can have room for a 40ft unloading run.

The Great Falls of the Passaic River in Paterson, with brick mill buildings above the gorge

Bergen and Passaic Counties

Paterson's mill district, river towns and Bergen County suburbs.

Paterson and Passaic have older mill and rowhouse neighborhoods along the Passaic River, while Bergen County towns from Hackensack to Mahwah have more driveways and side yards. Each town sets its own rules, so before you order, ask the local zoning office about size, setbacks and how long a container may stay.

The Raritan River at New Brunswick, with riverside parkland and low brick buildings along the bank

Middlesex and Monmouth Counties

Turnpike warehouses, Raritan River towns and the northern Shore.

Edison, Woodbridge, Carteret and the other towns along the Turnpike hold large warehouse and distribution sites, where a 40ft or high cube can come off the truck on a paved lot. Farther south, Monmouth County farms, horse properties and shore towns bring gravel lanes and sandy ground. Soft or sandy ground needs firm support under each corner.

The Delaware River at Trenton, with the steel truss of the Lower Trenton Bridge and trees along both banks

Mercer, Somerset and Hunterdon Counties

The state capital, the Route 1 corridor and farm country along the Delaware.

Trenton's rowhouse neighborhoods sit close to the Delaware River, and the Route 1 corridor toward Princeton mixes office parks, warehouses and campuses. Somerset and Hunterdon counties open into farms and large lots with long driveways. A long driveway still has to be straight for the last 110 or 130 feet, with 22 feet of height along the unloading path.

Wooded ridges above farm fields and a two-lane county road in Sussex County

Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties

Lake communities, wooded ridges and long driveways in the northwest.

Morristown and Parsippany have suburban office and warehouse lots, while Sussex and Warren counties have lake communities, farms and wooded lots on steep grades. Rain and the spring thaw can soften a gravel driveway, so when Container One's Delivery/Dispatch department contacts you to schedule, ask for a date when the ground is firm. On a sloped lot, prepare a level spot for the container before delivery, by grading or by building up the supports at the low corners.

Rural, Remote or Off-Road Property?

Container One arranges delivery to unpaved properties when the ground and access allow it. Tell us the access situation: how long the drive or track is, how tight the turns are, and anything the truck has to cross or pass under.
